There are more ways to earn money online today than ever before.
The problem isn’t finding them.
The problem is figuring out which ones are legitimate, which ones fit your goals, and which ones are worth your time.
When I first started looking for ways to earn money online, I quickly discovered there was a lot more to it than I expected.
The problem was I didn’t even know what most of these things were.
A lot of it was trial and error.
Some things I figured out fairly quickly.
Other things took months or even years to fully understand.
One of the reasons I started this blog is because I don’t want you to have to go through half the confusion and frustration that I did.
If I can help someone better understand how all of this works and avoid some of the mistakes I made along the way, then sharing what I’ve learned is worth it.
If you’ve ever looked for ways to earn money online, you’re definitely not alone.
Most people have thought about it at one time or another.
Some are looking for extra income.
Some want a side hustle.
And some people would love to eventually be able to quit their 9-to-5.
Years ago, I found myself doing the exact same thing.
It seemed like every time I was online, I was either seeing or hearing about someone making money online.
And it seemed like everybody had the answer.
One person said affiliate marketing was the way to go.
Someone else swore by network marketing.
Others were building blogs, making YouTube videos, taking surveys, trading crypto, or doing something completely different.
The more I looked, the more it seemed like everybody had their own system, their own method, and their own opinion on what worked best.
And like most people, I wanted to find out more and see if it was something I could do too.
The problem was that I had absolutely no idea what earning online actually involved.
Like a lot of beginners, I thought it would be pretty easy.
I’d find something that looked good.
Something people would buy and I could make some money from.
Push a few buttons, maybe tell a few people about it, and cha-ching… start making money!
At least that’s how I thought it worked.
That’s pretty much how most of these things were being advertised.
The websites made everything look easy.
The videos made it sound simple.
The testimonials made it seem like people were making money left and right.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that nobody was talking about everything that happens after you find and maybe even join something.
Most people were talking about the end result.
Very few were talking about everything in between.
And that’s where the confusion started.
The more I found out, the more choices and confused I got.
And like most people looking for ways to earn from home, I didn’t even know what half of them were.
Sure, I knew what taking a survey was, had heard of blogging, and who doesn’t know what YouTube is? lol
But the rest?
Some of them I had heard mentioned before but didn’t really understand what they were.
Others I’d never heard of at all.
It felt like everybody was speaking a different language.
I started seeing and hearing all these names while watching videos or searching on YouTube and Google.
The problem was I didn’t know what most of them were.
Things like:
And even if I did figure out what something was, my next question was usually:
How does this help me make money online?
Some of them I had heard mentioned before but didn’t really understand what they were.
Others I’d never heard of at all.
It felt like everybody was speaking a different language.

Looking back now, I realize I wasn’t the only one feeling that way.
Most beginners run into the same confusion because nobody takes the time to explain how all these pieces fit together.
That’s one of the main reasons I started this blog.
My goal isn’t to tell you what to do.
My goal is to help you understand what these things are, how they work, and how they fit into the bigger picture so you can make informed decisions for yourself.
In my other posts, we’ll take a closer look at these different methods using real-world examples, lessons I’ve learned, mistakes I’ve made, and the things I wish someone had explained to me when I first started.
Because before you can choose the right path, it helps to understand where the paths lead.
If you’re new here, I recommend starting with my Start Here page where I walk through the basic pieces that every online business needs. You can also read What To Expect to understand how this blog is structured and how the different pieces fit together.
